Public means public
Your public writing and optional name, age, gender, location, connection goal and interested-in field are visible to anyone, including visitors without an account. Use an alias if you prefer. Your account email stays off your profile. Earlier profiles remain excluded from discovery until their authors accept the new public-discovery consent.
Private writing and matching
Your private description is returned only to you in the app. With your consent, both descriptions and profile details are sent through OpenRouter to TypeSafe’s Jev for signed-in matching and match alerts. Guest searches use only candidates’ public information. Other users receive public profiles and aggregate scores, never private descriptions or generated explanations. Scores can still reveal broad compatibility signals. The site operator has technical access to the database; private does not mean end-to-end encrypted.
Search text is processed by OpenRouter / Jev but is not saved as a profile. The app caches only opaque request hashes, profile scores and archetype identifiers for up to 30 minutes; expired entries are removed during subsequent searches. It does not put query text into cache records. Account email and message content are not sent to Jev.
Provider processing and retention are governed by OpenRouter’s privacy policy and model-provider terms. FindYourMatch.today does not promise zero provider retention. Do not include information you do not want processed.
Samples and personality archetypes
Sample personals are fictional and clearly labeled. The 16 MBTI-style archetypes are original descriptions inspired by the Myers-Briggs preference framework. Jev may suggest an informal resemblance based on your words, or decline to choose. This is not an official MBTI assessment, a diagnosis, or evidence that two people should date. Scores are not probabilities of relationship success.
Messages and alerts
Signed-in members with a saved, visible personal can message other eligible members who allow messages. Messages are stored in the database and returned only to conversation participants in the app. They are not end-to-end encrypted. Blocks prevent further conversations through the app. Turning off messages prevents new incoming messages; it does not delete existing messages.
Optional match alerts compare your saved writing with up to 20 new or updated real members per check and store matches scoring at least 75. Checks run at most every five minutes while you use the app or when you return. There are no email, push, or continuous background notifications. Alerts and search rankings may change when profiles change.
Your account
Email accounts use a securely hashed password and a signed session cookie. Email stays off your public profile and is not sent to the matching provider. Authentication records include your email, password hash, sessions and short-lived security tokens. When email delivery is connected, account confirmation and password-reset links are sent through Resend. Until then, new email accounts are not verified and password-reset emails are unavailable. Deleting your personal removes its content and conversations, but does not delete the email account.
Storage, consent and deletion
Profiles and messages remain until you delete your personal. “Delete my personal & messages” removes your descriptions, details, messages you sent or received, alerts, and related blocks/reports from the active database. It cannot retract copies someone made or guarantee immediate removal from backups or provider records. To withdraw matching consent, delete your personal. Private writing and optional details can be left empty.
Rate counters limit abuse and spending. Searches have no per-visitor daily allowance. A short burst limit uses a keyed hash of the connection IP address rather than storing a raw IP. A site-wide ceiling protects service costs. Operational providers may maintain their own access logs. API keys are encrypted separately and never returned to browsers.
Community rules
Adults only. No harassment, hate, scams, impersonation, non-consensual sexual content or publishing someone else’s private information. A block hides members from each other’s signed-in boards, matches and conversations. It cannot stop someone from reading a public profile while signed out. Reports also block a member and send their public writing to the owner’s manual review queue. Reviews are not continuous. Never post a home address, identity document, payment details or API key. Alignment is not identity verification or a safety guarantee.
